I wish we could recommend threads.

For example, on Stage IV and III boards, where I do not post, good news is often reported. I would love to celebrate with and high 5 the OP, but currently can't except through PMs. Being able to publically recommend a thread would give me that happy opportunity.

There isn't a cement wall between the stages, just a firm grip on common courtesy! You can certainly high-five someone you know, but to go onto threads just to be part of it doesn't make sense. You will find that sometimes one of your stage II friends will flip into stage iv and you'll want to be able to follow her. That is allowed. I have many friends in stage iv groups, but don't go over there just to add my 'woo hoo' when there is good news unless it's anyone I already know.

As for recommending threads, what do you mean? Are you trying to send a stage iv to an alternate thread for example? That would be just ignorant! Most people who have been on the forum for a while know how to find their way around. You can suggest threads you enjoy and the link can be in your post. Just be careful you aren't directing people for the wrong reasons.

There seems to be seasonal 'waves' of trouble on the boards as new people try to 'control' certain areas. It's an open forum. Common sense and common courtesy are always welcome! Also undertand that people are reading your posts that don't respond, so be careful what you say. You can get a newbie really worked up over a casual comment you make.

So, did I understand your concerns or am I out in left field?

Barbe, on other forums I participate in there is a button to click which recommends the thread. The number of recs is visible. On one forum there is even a Greatest Page, where the most recommended threads are listed. There's no way this could be used for nefarious purposes.

AHHHH, I see! Kind of like "Like" on Facebook...right?? So we could cruise the most popular threads that way. That's not a bad idea....the "Active Threads" topics does kind of do that, but it would be interesting to see how many "likes" a page got.
