BRAC results in.....confused?

Got a call from my former BS today, and both my BRCA tests came back negative. They are now running a BARD? I also saw my GP today for yearly PAP, and they found a mass on my left ovary. She recommends a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. Meeting with new BS tomorrow to discuss all of this. I know something is wrong and having everything removed will ease my mind whether its cancer or not. How many have tested negative for the BRAC only to find out you have cancer?

    Lisa - I think you mean they are running a BART test, which is a test for another genetic anomaly.  I had mine done last week (I also tested negative for BRCA 1 and 2).  I have had breast cancer 2x.  I'm not sure why your GP is recommending a mastectomy at this point - it is better if you clarify with her.  Best wishes to you!
