Cookie, vent away m'dear!  Besides this seroma, it seems LE has reared it's ugly head IMHO.  I'll see LT on Friday.  Tuesday seeing PS and hopefully this time seroma will be drained.  Son (an LPN) hadn't seen me in a good week or so and was over yesterday.  He was like, Mom that swelling has gotten worse for the seroma.  Wants me to not leave the hospital until they do drain it and call him immediately so he can run up there and raise some hell.  Think he loves his Mama?  The bond of an Only child of a Single Parent.  He has a hard time coming around often, this BC is harder on him than me for the most part.

PS is goofy - doesn't think the breast part of the surgery would have aggravated the LE.  Really?  There's another set of incisions, even if superficial compared to when the mastectomy was done.  AND they put an A line in my LE arm during surgery.  I understand why because of the clotting that happened and all but come on....they KNEW to not do that!

I'm glad LT took photos when I met with her after surgery so we could formulate the game plan for this round of LT.

Since I wrap my fingers and hand, it is pretty obvious. When asked, I usually say that it helps the swelling of my hand, and people are satisfied. What's more annoying (even though it's genuine concern) is when people ask me "Are you still with those bandages? When will you be done?".

I tell them it's a very long process. I am not interested in explaining that I had BC to anyone, other than those I told at the time. The LE started from a dumb orthopedic MD having my wrist bandaged because of tendinitis. (I only knew about BP and no blood drawing - nobody educated me properly after surgery in 1991) and so I learned the hard way that just the constriction of the bandaging caused LE. (I bet the MD still has no idea!)

My grandkids are the cutest. They come and kiss my "boo-boo".

My students (HS) got used to seeing me bandaged up. No more questions.

My husband quips I should just tell everyone I socked him one. I like the answer I read in one of the forums "complications" and I have used it when I felt like it. It shuts them up.
