Hi Maud- checking in to see how you slept? I am sleeping better but whenever I wake up that is it. There is no falling back to sleep for me. This morning it was around 4:30...ugh! Maybe my body is so used to not sleeping that it thinks 5 hours is plenty?

Hi Ginger ! don't know if I slept better, don't remember taking the mask off, even took off both braces for my wrists that I have to sleep with, that was a first  Frown  I also wake up sooooo early 4:30 / 5:00 grrrrrr.....and end up having to nap during the day because I'm so tired.  I am determined to make this work though.  Will be taking a copy of the article to the doc on Thursday, see what he has to say about it.  I hope he has some real good ideas - will definitely let you know how it went.  Seeing the gyn tomorrow Yell

Hello Ginger !  went to the doc on Thursday....he's really standoffish Frown but this time I had a visit with his Fellow, who's an angel.  She wrote a script to adjust my pressure upwards (don't know about that....) and gave me a few tips, nothing really worth repeating, i.e. if you can't fall asleep, get up and do something boring, DA !! as if, it took me 15 darn minutes to set up the mask, plus if I come out with it, my cats run for their life Lol

Their recommendation: chip reading says I take the mask off within one hour of falling asleep, so, for example, I have to set alarm at 10 if I go to bed at 9, so that I can put it back on. Again and again throughout the night !!!!!  WTH  Yell

Just had an HA moment this a.m.  This sufficating feeling I get might be related to dry nasal passages from the pressure !!  HA !  So, I'm going to rub insides as far as I can with coconut oil. We'll see ! I really really hope this does the trick

    How are you doing ?

Maud- I hope the alarm helps. I chuckled out loud at the cat comment. Does your machine have the humidifier with it? I hope your plan works.

I am doing ok with it. Keep it on about 6 hours at this point. Wierd dreams but I do feel better than I did a month ago.

That's great Ginger ! having kinda weird dreams too.  I mentioned to the Fellow that a BC sister was also waking in the wee wee hours of the mornin', grrrrr, but she did not make any connections...oh well.....rising with the sun has got to have some benefits, right ?

Gotta persist, gotta  Cry I will make a conscious effort to remember the melatonin and yea will jack up humidity to max !

Next option, according to pneumologist is some kind of mouth apparatus = dentist = very expansive.  I said no thanks, I HATE dentists with a passion !!

Oh no maud. I was stuffed up after cleaning out our basement. Too much dust. I have had to use nasal and mouth mask for a couple nights. Hope you get some rest.

That makes perfect sense to me, Maud.  Maybe that ties in  (in some way) with the latest research that shows that women who work the night shift are more likely to get breast cancer--they aren't getting sleep during the normal night hours and maybe aren't getting good, undisturbed REM sleep when they do sleep when it's light outside. There's some connection with melatonin in that case, I think.  Maybe the body has trouble restoring itself, normalizing/correcting imbalances within, because of the oxygen levels and the interrupted sleep when you have sleep apnea?  Thanks for the info.

PS:  I hope the CPAP machine makes all the difference.
