Anyone have pain in mastectomy breast months after surgery

I have my final implant put in December 2011.  I got where I was healed and pain free.  Over the last two weeks or so I'm having pain where the nipple once was that is a bit sharp and sore muscle type pain on the side and deep inside the breast.  Anyone else having this issue?

I had diep reconstruction last Aug and about 2 months ago I started to have an twitch & itching under the flap. It is gone now but about drove me nuts for awhile.  I wonder if the pain is something similar.  Hope it goes away soon. NJ

I had my mastectomy in 2009. Since then I have been getting muscle cramps where I can see my mastectomy site raise and twist. It hurts like the dickens. I take an anti anxiety med that seems to help alot. It sounds like your nerves are trying to regenerate.

carcharm, that's exactly what my breast surgeon said when I started to have stabbing pain aound my scar a couple of months ago.  I had my mastectomy last June (2011). This July, I had my check-up exam (and mammogram to left side)  everything was okay and the surgeon said the pain was just nerves trying to regenerate.  Thankfully, my pains only lasted for a couple of days.
