I am a bc survivor embarking on my first fundraising campaign for Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and am running in the Survival of the Shawangunks (SOS) Triathlon in order to raise $2500 for Miles for Hope.

Miles of Hope is a well-established organization located in New York State that funds a large variety of programs for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer.  For example, If the person is uninsured, Miles for Hope will help to finance the cost of treatments; they fund complementary therapy options for patients; they fund research projects; and numerous other activities listed on their website (www.milesofhope.org).

There was a woman at their annual brunch who owns a pizzeria, was uninsured, and was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Her life was basically saved through financial assistance from Miles of Hope so she was able to get treatments.  I found her story very inspiring.

Just so you know, the SOS Triathlon is an adventure races involving 3 lake swims (2.4 miles total), 19+ miles of trail running, 30 mile hilly bike ride.  www.sostriathlon.org.  It's going to hurt but Miles of Hope is worth it.

Please donate!  I need to raise about $2100 more by the end of August.

Here's my fundraising website:

 Thank you so much!
