Hi All,

Who knew I would ever post in the Fitness forum??! Surprised

I'm nearly 7 years out from my dx in September 2005, when I had a mastectomy & LD reconstruction.  I was always overweight, but put even more on after all my treatment and 5 years on Tamoxifen.

Anyway, last July when I finished Tamoxifen, I said enough-is-enough and started to get fit and loose weight. To date, I've lost 4.5st (29kg) and power-walked the London Moonwalk marathon (all 26.2 miles at night in a decorated bra!!) last month. I still have 1.5 st to go to get to a healthy BMI, but I am really happy with they way things are going. Smile

So I am feeling great and the fitest I have ever been in my life! Now that I finished training for the powerwalk marathon, I though that maybe I could start running...? This will be the first time since I was a child that I have run! So I have started going very slowly, walking-running-walking and taking it slowly. It's going OK, but I've noticed that I am getting pain in my reconstructed breast. It's a constant dull pain in the depths of the breast. Since the weight-loss, the reconstructed breast is now bigger than my real one. However, the sports bra I have is from before I lost the weight, so it's a little big, but it still fits the reconstructed breast OK.

Do any of you have any experience of this? Am I doing something wrong? I know I should get fitted for a new sports bra, but has anyone else felt pain when they started running?

Thanks,

Mags
