What's new with me
Hi ladies,
I don't pop on here nearly as often anymore...so I miss out on some stuff over here. Things with me are very busy! I have less than one year (haha, 11 months) left of a full courseload at college before I graduate. It's killin'me! I find that I just don't learn and absorb stuff like I used to. Chemo effects? Menopause? Whatever it is, I feel like there is a cement wall in my head that bounces all information off of it. Most especially during test time! God forbid the test is timed (had one last night on Spanish verbs...THAT was fun).
My new (one year in April) job is going well. I love it, but it is also very time critical stuff and I have to think fast. I'm not sure if it's all the stuff I'm trying to get done at once...but it sure does feel like my brain is not wired the same anymore. However, I love the poeple I work with and my boss is awesome.
DS is growing like a weed. There is some debate on whether or not he is taller than I am (I'm 5'10"), but I choose to believe I'm still taller...but I have a feeling I will no longer have a choice to concede in a month or two. He's truly a good kid. Does some stupid stuff once in awhile, but he cares about people and has an awesome sense of humor.
I just found out that my great aunt (I think she's in her late 70's) was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to have a mastescomy. It sounds like it may have been stage 1, but I don't know the details. I don't think they will be doing chemo, but radiation was mentioned. I hate that it affects anybody...but knowing that my favorite auntie got hit pisses me off.
OK...just thought I'd pop on and give an update. Why not? I'm avoiding my Microeconomics final. LOL

Hi Bugs, glad to hear from you and that life rolls on. I get that thing about stuffy-brain (that's what I call it). My theory is we already have a lot of stuff in there...more than an 18 year old's brain for sure...so it has to rattle around a bit before it can push some stuff over and make room. Like making room on a subway seat, lol. Eventually it settles in, but I think that's why older people don't do so well with "change." Stay the course!

Hi Bugs. I had a lot of issues with not remembering things like I used to, forgetting things that someone had just finished telling me and feeling very panicky about it. My doctor recommended CoQ10, Fish Oil and Vitamin B Complex. That was before the breast cancer diagnosis at age 39, but during a period of very high stress. Never hurts to continue to bring those things up. I feel a lot better with the supplements.
After chemo, bmx and rads I found that I was extremely tired and mentally sluggish. I thought that it was just the treatments, but decided to check into it anyway. My doctor had all that great bloodwork available and saw that my blood sugar was consistantly just a little high, showing some resistance. She put me on Metformin as a preventive measure and my energy and capability to keep up mentally has come right back. Now I am working on my master's degree, learning programming...
Good luck with yours!

Hi Bugs! good to hear your update. IT's so wonderful that you're almost done with your degree.
& I can not beleive the G'ster is that tall already. Time flys. I still have some cogntive impairments. Like forgetting my BIL of (25 yrs) name but I kind of roll with it.
My job is extremely detailed so now I need to write everything down. Small sacrifices.
Think about a visit when you're doneWe'll celebrate tropical syle!
Mucho love.

Bugs,
It's so good to hear about what's going on in your life. For some reason, the 5'10 surprised me. I just imagined you to be aroud 5'4. I am 5'2 and my 11 year old passed me last year (guess it didn't take a lot). I'm so glad to hear that you love the people you work with and your boss, and that you are almost done with school. That is awesome. You know that over the years on these boards, no one can make me laugh like you can.
Love
Bobbie
