tinker-bell,
I had slight tingles for a couple days, then it went away, it comes and goes.
Poodlelover,
I use Essential oil diffuser at night. Lavender oil. Also Spray my bed and pillows. I take Tylenol PM nightly. Hope you sleep good tonight
-
Got a script for Trazodone which definitely helped with sleep last night. Just FYI for others having same insomnia issues!
-
Howdy, Ladies (and the Occasional Gentleman),
If you experienced the following symptoms, how long after your final chemo treatment did they dissipate? Thanks and best wishes for an SE free weekend!
- Neuropathy in fingers, toes, soles of feet
- Blood in nasal passages
- Muscle weakness
I think I failed to share that the red blotch on my cheek cleared up within a couple of days.Lyn
-
I am 3 weeks PFC, almost, and not having anymore bloody snot or as much runnyness.
Neuropathy and leg joint and muscle pain continues. The coldness in my feet (from mid shin down) is a little bit better.
Anyone have issues with itchy eyelids? I thought they were infected and blamed the chemo, but they aren't as bad now but still itchy, so maybe I have an allergic reaction to something instead. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this.
-
developed blurry vision which my oncologist said is due to the taxol. She said it should improve after completing taxol. Has anyone had blurry vision on taxol? And did it get better ? Thank you
-
Just wanted to show off my hair! Got it trimmed around the edges and dyed on Weds. Yesterday was my first day without a scarf. It went well, several strangers commented on how much they liked it. It's still really too short, but I'm just over it. Will probably keep it purple for a couple of months and then go back to boring grey.
-
NotTheBoss--Looks great! How many weeks PFC are you? I'm 8 weeks and dont have near as much hair as you. It's at least an inch long but is very thin.
-
I'm 3 weeks PFC. It's still soft and fluffy and doesn't feel as thick as normal hair. All the tiny bits got colored, though, so i think that made it look thicker.
-
NotThe Boss - Purple is my favourite color! You look great!
-
Tara17- Yes, I have the blurry vision on Taxol
-
Tara17- Yes, I have the blurry vision on Taxol
-
I have blurry vision also. Weekly Taxol here.
-
sounds like the blurry vision is a common theme with taxol. My oncologist said it should improve once taxol is completed. Let's keep comparing notes on how our vision doe
-
hi Shelabela did your bone/muscle pain improve? I've had shooting pains all over my body after first treatment on Monday (since Thursday) don't seem to be calming down
-
Tara17- I agree! Let's keep each other informed. Mine is blurry both near and far right now
-
tinker-bell, my pain has been very constant. I can't get comfortable at night as my lower back hurts bad. And during the day is horrible if I sit or stand to long. God forbid I try to walk for any length of time. Going to ask about a heavier pain med, GOTTA GET SLEEP . No sleep=crabby shelabela!!!😡
Danix5,
The blurry vision is horrible, I drive a lot and I'm not comfortable driving right now. Watching TV is totally out and reading a book, maybe for awhile. Seems to be more far away then close to for me. I do find that "refresh artificial tears" do help some. Have you tried that?
My rash is finally going away. Now if I could only taste things.
-
I finally graduated ac and taxol last march 8.
11 days PFC..
I am stil feeling the SE. The only thing that improve is my energy, though not much. I still have stomach issues( bloating, reflux, weird but feels like my stomach is also paralyzed).. still have blurry vision, neuropathy, itching on d soles of my feet., back pain..I thought these se's would go away after treatment, but I am thankful that I am done.
Tinker bell, I had shooting pains from taxol 1 to taxol 6.
To those that are still on taxol, there is a light at the end of the tunnel..Praying for a mild SE this week for u all..
-
hi Novbaby I'm sorry you are still feeling some se! Did your shooting pains go away after Taxol 6? That's something to hope for for me! I've got 11 more to go....
Shelabela I'm sorry you are experiencing this pain constantly. I hope they find you better pain meds. I've got Naproxen at the moment but it makes me a bit nauseous. Hope vision clears up too.
I'm asking my Oncologist to consider loweringthe dose and am also asking to be assessed for anxiety SSRIs.
-
tinkerbell,
It went away after taxol 6, i really dont know why.
I hooe yours will too..
-
Novbaby and others who are PFC, thanks for posting your experience with side effects after chemo completion. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. Novbaby, 11 days means just 4 days with the Taxol very low in your system, right? The first week PFC still has chemicals circulating? I assume that improvement is very gradual. I hope every day brings you at least a teensy improvement.
-
aterry, i think somebody wrote here that nadir for taxol is 1-3 weeks?.. so im really hoping that after 3 weeks, its gonna be better. How many more you have to do?
We just have to remember that this too shall passed.
-
for the ladies on taxol with herceptin weekly what is the MG on your taxol and herceptin?
-
sorry - but what is PFC?
-
Tara--PFC means Post Final Chemo. So if someone is 4 weeks PFC, it is 4 weeks since their last chemo. I am 8 weeks PFC. Been through surgery, 20 weeks of chemo and I have 4 radiation treatments left. Almost done!!!
-
Now I will ask what Robin means by MG - do you mean the dosage of Taxol and Herceptin? Or does MG mean something else?
-
Hi kdtheatre yes the dosages?
-
hi kb870, so by 3 and a half weeks u dud not have any SE's at all? What kind of SE's did you have?
Tinker bell whats SSRI?
-
KB870 - Are your taste buds back to normal? My mouth and tongue are so dry.... My DH wants to take me out to celebrate the end of chemo but there's not much point yet. I can't taste food normally.
Gail
-
KB870 - Maybe... The end of my tongue feels like it was burnt like when you drink tea or coffee that's too hot. It only started on the Taxol. Someone said 3 weeks I seem to recall so I'm hopeful. We had pizza for the first time in ages a few weeks ago. I was so looking forward to it but it tasted like cardboard!
-
KB and Bravepoint, thanks for the discussion of SE's and how they might ebb after chemo. I was especially happy to hear that nails recovered fairly quickly, though I know that will vary from person to person. And taste buds. My taste buds did better on Taxol than AC but there has been a change. Someone mentioned food tasting/feeling sandy. I experience that, Especially with meat which seems improbable but it does.
