HEY Jenn!!! Taxol for me has been MUCH easier than AC! I have had zero nausea! I've only done 3, infusion on Thursdays and the only day that I do not feel good is Sunday. And that day is really not that bad, just muscle aches and a general unwell feeling. I just take it easy and veg out and watch tv or something. But I feel ok enough to run errands if I have to! It really is nothing like AC! I do have the yuk taste back in my mouth but it's not as bad, water taste good again. My appetite has returned as well. On AC I did not feel like eating at all, now I will prob put back on the weight I lost on AC! I was skeptical about Taxol too.... but it has proved to be much easier for me!
-
StefLove, I had bad nausea with Taxol and Zofran was not helping me at all. It would start the day after the infusion and lasted almost till next infusion.
-
I have had some nausea on Taxol, but nothing like AC. It seems worst when I'm hungry
-
I just had Taxol 7 of 12, I only had one day of nausea in those 7 weeks, Zofran got rid of it immediately.
Counts were improved today! Only marginally, but love that they moved in the right direction
-
That's great, K. You must be about one day ahead of me! I have #7 today. I love being on the other side of the chemo mountain.
-
Alluson, I usually go Tuesdays, but MO was not there so I had to see him yesterday. I was scheduled for chemo today but they let me go yesterday since I was already there. Next week we'll be chemo twins again for # 8.... Getting closer to that #12!!!!!!!! My counts were a little better this week... Hoping yours are all good too and wishing you a side-effect-free week
-
Same to you, K!
-
K, do you see your MO every time? I see mine every 3rd week, which is enough for me because I can't stand her. lol
-
I see my MO every other week during Taxol. So the week of the 20th, I'll see him Monday too (he must have taken Tuesdays off this month), but the others are on Tuesdays.
-
Hi Ladies - I will have to go through all your msg's when I feel a bit stronger... was suppose to have Taxol #5 (was booked for 6 straight) however I fell below the required 1.5 for my neutrophils and now I have to go on the 3 on 1 off to let me build back up. Still having the lack of bowel movement issues too and that is causing me much nausea and lots of vomiting for sure when I get in the car and travel the hour and half to cancer center. That's even after the nausea meds they give you. So yes I am losing weight for sure. Will catch up with you all soon. Wishing you all well.

So I lost a lot of brows so far (Taxol #4 yesterday) anyone start to see them come back while on taxol? If so when?
-
My brows are gone. So far a total of 4 brow hairs look like they are trying to make an appearance back. Other than those overachievers, none seem in a rush to grow. The hair on my head on the other hand, is trying to make a reappearance. I still just have peach fuzz, but the peach fuzz if fuller and not falling out, and I know (from last time) that the real hair is not far behind. My head feels fuzzy now and not shiny bald. I do really, really wish my brows would hurry up though; I am terrible at trying to draw them.
-
I just had #7/12 and I think my brows are growing a little. I see tiny hairs around the middle. I don't know if they will stay or what. My brows have not completely fallen out yet.
-
I'm six weeks out now and eyebrowless. This pencil has been a lifesaver for me - I'm a total dunce about makeup but this thing is great: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5770237
-
That's the brow pencil I have. It is wonderful and I definitely recommend it.. I am just a complete reject at applying it. I have never been good at make-up, hair, etc. I have always been a throw my hair into a ponytail and go type of girl. Now I'm a throw a ball cap on and go girl, but I look scary with no brows, so I do do put eyeliner on adn draw in brows...the second I get out of bed in the morning!
-
So i have baby hairs where the brows did fall out - think they are back to stay?
-
I don't know, Princess. I am just starting them, too.
K: I have one of those magnifying mirrors that sits on the counter like in hotels. It makes applying the eyebrow stuff soooo much easier.
-
I still have about 1/4 of my brows but I understand they are likely to go AFTER my last taxol so I'm just enjoying them for now.
-
I had a few eyebrow hairs left at my last Taxol. Unfortunately they continued to fall out PFC. I will be 4 weeks PFC tomorrow, and am just now seeing the beginning of a few hairs coming back. My hair does grow slowly, so hopefully it will come back faster for you all.

Going for 11/12 Taxol tomorrow! I still have my eyebrows BUT one is almost completely gone and the other not so much. I feel like a freak!
-
Right there with ya Carrie!
-
I would never imagined I could be spending this much time in front of a mirror!
-
Princess and Kbee - same for me. I was so low maintenance before all this. I was lucky that I had very curly hair. It was so low maintenance. Never fully dried it if I dried it at all before leaving the house. Now I have to sit in front of the mirror penciling in eyebrows, eyeliner and lately I've been wearing false eyelashes everyday. They do make a huge difference in my appearance.
-
Same for me! I've worn more makeup during breast cancer treatment than ever in my life.
-
I'm at about the same stage as you, K. A few brow hairs, and peach fuzz with some longer dark hair under that. 7/12 today - I'm really looking forward to 12!
Cathy, I'm on the same three on, one off schedule. It is very nice to have the week off to recover and also taste food!
-
Fake eyelashes, fake eyebrows, wig... LOL I absolutely wear more make up than I ever have!!
Taxol #4 today.... 1 month down ..2 to go!
-
I hear you Leigh! I just use eyeliner instead of fake eyelashes, but I still use way more make up now than ever before! I even draw on eyebrows when I get up in the middle of the night to pee!
Anyone else have jaw pain? Of all of the places I have bone pain, the jaw pain is definitely the most annoying!
-
KBee...I did have jaw pain one of my weeks on Taxol. It was there for the week, but did not return the next week.
Did you all find the muscle ache or bone pain moves around from week to week? Or was it a more general pain? Or pain in the same spots from week to week?

have bone pain in my legs on day 3. I am supposed to get my period tomorrow. I see no signs of its arrival, and this has made me profoundly sad. You think I'd be happy not to have the stupid thing. But it's like the closing of a book somehow.
I have round 4 tomorrow. So that makes 21 days. My hair is not falling out. At all. If it was going to, would it have already? Or is this something that can happen later in treatment? I'm grateful but I don't want to be surprised a week from now.
Cancer seems full of suprises. I am having a low day today mentally and emotionally. Stupid period.
-
Tres, my period stopped about a month into my treatments. I have a different regimen then you because I started with the AC first and am finishing up Taxol next week. I feel like for a few months I still had PMS emotions and it drove me nuts! I often wonder if my period will come back since I am premenopausal. We shall see. As far as the hair I can't speak to whether it would have happened yet since mine came out during AC. I do know that i noticed a lot of hair in the brush before I shaved it off. Be prepared for anything because, like you said, cancer is full of surprises. Your allowed to have days where you feel not so good. Tomorrow is a new day!
