Had MRI last week on my L knee for pain.  I'm stage IV with ibc and bone mets since 6/09.  Just found out I have osteoarthritis in my L knee.  I was glad it was not a ligament or meniscus tear.  Got a shot today and will have physical therapy.  If it gets worse will get steroid shots which is supposed to help with the pain.

Did not see any arthritis threads, so decided to start one.

Hi, Terri; sorry about the osteoarthritis dx, but sometimes we have to look at things from a different perspective, don't we?  So, I'll say, "Whew!  At least it's just osteoarthritis!".

I, too, have osteoarthritis. It's in my neck for sure (dx'd by my PCP eons ago) but probably also in my hands and wrists. My med onco told me that the aches and pains from aromatase inhibitors are likely to affect osteoarthritic joints first, or worst.

My mom and her dad also had osteoarthritis. I imagine there's a familial component. Mine is certainly not from overuse of those joints, unless resting my wrists on this laptop while I type is considered "overuse".  Fortunately, occasional Advil and/or Aleve are holding mine in check.

    Hugs to you.
