Liver, Lungs and Bones

I am brand new here and honestly I am not sure if I am on the right board.  My mother had breast cancer 7 years ago and had a masectomy, she has been clear of any cancer since.  About a month ago she had a MRI on a totally unrelated matter for back and she got the call that they saw something on her liver.  After a number of tests, she has been diagnosed with liasions in her liver, lungs and bones.  She began chemo and tomorrow radiation.  My question is that about a day after she was diagnosed, she began to decline and a week ago she was admitted to the hospital because she had such naseua and could not eat, she has still not eaten (about 3 weeks now) and everything comes right back up, they have not found anything that is blocking so I am wondering could this be the liver lesions?  They did a biopsy yesterday but the results are not back yet and I am gettting anxious.  Also no medicne seems to relieve the naseua.  Just looking for thoughts on this so I can understand what is going on and what is to come.  Thanks for all your help.

Those symptoms you describe are symptoms of liver mets.  Some people have symptoms and some don't.  The location of the mets in the liver are key to whether there are any symptoms  Your Mom could have one met blocking a bile duct or 20 that are blocking nothing.

Peggy, thanks so much for responding, noone has mentioned this at all.  We are still waiting for the results of the liver biopsy, but not sure what that is going to say other then what we already know.  Is this blockage something that can be treated.  She tried to eat a spoonful of frozen yogurt today and immediately threw up.  I am trying very hard to be positive around my mother but its killing me so the best I can do is at least arm myself with as much information as possible to ask the doctor.  Thanks for your reply.  Alison
