Anyone else develop an ulcer?

I'm not sure where to post this.  About a year after finishing chemo and six months after radiation (four months after the oomph -- and a month before my bilat. mastectomy with diep). I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy.  I had been having pain in my stomach. My colonoscopy was fine, but endoscopy showed an ulcer that was trying to heal. He did a biopsy and it did not show cancer. The dr. put me on dexalant -- which a year later I just started to take regularly. I thought maybe I could get by only when it flared.

I had never experienced gut aches before this dx and chemo.  and am wondering if anyone else has developed an ulcer.  Mine is not h-pylori.  Of course, it scares the crap out of me every time I have an attack. I'm brca2+ on top of IDC grade 3 with node involvement and er/pr+. So I'm off to the races with every pain thinking liver mets., stomach mets., etc. My pain is on the bc and radiated side (right).

Thanks for any help or reassurance. Rachel

Oh Rachel how awful--they are painful. I really don't know if they are connected, but I know all my organs were fine when I started and in the middle of things I had to have my gall bladder out, I have a not so good kidney and a liver like an alcoholic (Idon't drin) so my point is who know what all this stuff does to our bodies. And I would think an ulcer (with worry causes acid) would be easy to get. But others on the site know so  so much and I really don't but I am sorry u have to have another added problem--I myself have never had one, but I know they can be brutal.

Had lumpectomy surgery in December 2011, radiation February and March.  Was admitted to hospital with a GI bleed Memorial Day weekend.  Bleed attributed to stomach ulcers and ulcers (confirmed by endoscopy) attributed to use of ibuprofen, but perhaps worry also involved.  Yes, ulcers painful.  Now taking Nexium 2x/day about one-half hour before breakfast and dinner.   Also take a prescription pain reliever that does not make me sick to my stomach.  I thought the surgery and radiation would be a breeze.  Sure got slam-dunked!  Still having discomfort.

Wow, good to know I'm not alone.  They mentioned ibuprofen for my ulcer as well.  It definately flairs when I'm stressed (like every dr. appt.) :-(

4 years out and just got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and diverticulitis. I don't use nsaids. Haven't used them in years due to digestive pain. Doc is prescribing Asecol (the name of this drug just cracks me up!). Have diarrhea so bad, with cramping and syncope. Horrible, painful belching (no gallbladder). The gas gets locked inside the lymphedema insterstitial fluid. Builds up and the pressure is so intense.

What side is your pain on or is it all over?
