detox after Pet scan/ CT

I was just diagnosed recently and am going through the necessary tests.

I have a PET scan Monday. What is the best way to remove the radioactive dye from my body afterwards? I know at this point I already have cancer but don't want to make things worse.

Well, when I had a bone scan with radioactive dye, the radiologist told me not to sit near or sleep with my young children for 24 hours, and to drink plenty of fluids. With my CT with contrast, they only said to drink extra fluids.

I was never given any precautions with either my PET or my head CT w/contrast.  But I have heard the same precautions that momofboys mentioned if you have a bone scan.  Sounds llike you won't since you are having the PET.  Best of luck with your scans.
