Shark Liver Oil Supplements As Adjunct Therapy

Options

Hi everyone,

You can usually find me in the TE Trouble forum but I stumbled upon something that I wanted to share in this forum.  I am nearing my reconstruction exchange date and after the rest of my surgical procedures I wanted to get started on some supplements.

I found an osteopathic practitioner, Dr. Thierry Lerond, who started his own marine-based supplement company.  The original company, Nutrilys, based in France, now has a sister company, Nutrilys Del Mar, in California.  Apparently, his shark liver oil supplements which have a patented purifying process are used by breast cancer survivors, current patients throughout Europe, and are part of clinical studies in France and Switzerland.

The company says he is on hand to chat with anyone who calls. Would love your input on this.  Here's the website if you wanted to nose around: www.nutrilysdelmar.com

Also, I am open to any other supplement advice you have!

Take care,

Hi Tatina. I did nose around the link and it looks like some very clean supplements are provided. I would be careful though. Besides the benefits, shark oil can often contain high levels of PCB's and raise your cholesterol. There was a craze about fifteen years ago about the benefits of shark bits via supplement....which amounted to nothing more than voodoo. You know...eat some shark fin 'cos sharks don't get cancer, etc. If ultimately you decide that the benefits outweigh the risks, I'd do plenty of research to make sure I wasn't taking a toxic amount because of that whole PCB thing. That concerns me.
