Pain in the breastbone

Options

Hello All,

I am really worried but hoping I'm just paranoid. I have been having a pain in the breastbone and collar bone. It's not really bad, maybe a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-10, but it is worrying me. I mentioned it to my oncologist this past Monday at my one year check up. I told him that I thought it was from working out and it seemed to be getting better. He did a through exam and seemed to think everything was ok. In fact, he told me I have nothing to worry about. He told me that if it gets worse or doesn't go away he would order a scan. Now my chest kind of hurts like it does when you have a bad cold and the breast bone and collar bone feel like they are burning. This is on the side that my cancer was. It comes and goes. I am going to call my oncologist Monday. I had stage 1 grade 2 ILC that was only in one breast. Tumor was less than 2cm and had clean margins. I chose bilateral mastectomy and had no lymph node involvement. Taking Tamoxifen (no chemo).

Has anyone experienced these symptoms? I know that bone pain is a SE of Tamoxifen so maybe that's all it is? My blood test was good but my tumor markers were not elevated when I was first diagnosed.

I am so tired of thinking about cancer!!

I had symptoms like that before my diagnosis and came up with gallstones.  The pain went away and I stopped worrying about it - but gallstones turned up in my pre-chemo scans. I'm glad you saw your oncologist, but hopefully it has nothing to do with cancer.
