Where have my posts gone??

I have been active on this site for eight and a half years, and passed the 1,000 posts mark a long time ago.

Yet I just noticed it says that I have made 797 posts. This is weird. What has happened to the rest of my posts?

I am sure no-one is that bothered about my posts.....but I am curious as to why the number has changed! Can the moderators shed any light on this, please?

Yes Sam, this is odd.  When I did a 'search' of your name I found 802 posts.  Dating back to 2004.

I just searched 'myself' and found that in April 2005 (seven years ago), I had made 795 posts.......

Sam52, not sure why there is this discrepancy. One possibility is that when a member asks to be deleted and is deleted,  all the threads they started are deleted, including all the posts in that thread. I do not know if this can account for the lower number of posts.

 

 I will share these observations with the tech team, to see if there is another explanation.

Thank you for your reply......but I have never asked to be deleted!

I look forward to seeing whether the tech team can explain the discrepancy.

Sam52, just to clarify.  If you posted on a thread of a member who was deleted (not you, but the initiator of the thread), all the posts on the thread are lost.  

I hope this is a little clearer.
