Metformin clinical trials: randomized and nonrandomized

Options

I hope this cheap safe drug can save people's lives. To know it for sure, clinical trials are run at great expense and we all want the data to be as clean and unbiased as possible.

There are some studies that are nonrandomized.   So everybody should be able to find some clinical trial to join if interested.

I hope patients are honest with the researchers because the data is easily polluted, no conclusive results come out despite great expense.   If patients plan to be noncompliant, then she should not go into studies in the first place.   A lot of general practitioners are happy with prescribing metformin for all kinds of reasons, pre-diabetic, diabetic tendencies in family, ovarian cyst, etc.

This paper goes into detail on how metformin might work and how the evidence goes for/against it:

Best wishes for all.
