Hey girls..............

I was just curious How everyones vit. D levels are??? Mine were at 59 about 4 months ago, they were about 30 right after treatment a year and a 1/2 ago,  so started on 4000D-3 a day...........Just had my levels checked and the nurse told me they were 31, should I be worried? I am still taking 4000 a day/

Maybe I am not absorbing it,  I dont eat much meat...........I am a little concerned, could this mean recurrance???? Or very prone to one, or am I just being a spaz like always!!!!

What do you think?? All these studie's don't they say the lower your level the higher your risk??

Thanks sistah's..................

xo

Hi Steph,  maybe it's the time of year.  We get less sunlight during the winter. I've been a ltitle lacks on taking my D3.  Now, after reading your post, I will step it up a little and get out in the sunlight without sunscreen for the first half hour or so.

Thanks barb, I was thinking the same thing,  getting some sun................I bought 5000 IU today, there gels and have some soy in them................Not sure about that..........I guess this all seems kinda trivial compared to all we deal with. Just goes to show, everything can be alarming if we let it.

I don't know how often everyone gets there levels checked, I am curious??

Thanks Barb, hope you are doing well and out of pain!!!!

This ABSOLUTLY doesn't mean your having a reoccuerrence. It means you husband needs to send you on a trip to Hawaii where you can lay in the sun each day alone while reading a book followed by yoga on the beach and a drink.

There is a perscription your doc can write for you-it's a combo of vit d that will bring it up asap. Or think about going to a natural path as well!

    :)

But NO this is not a sign of anything other then your not getting or absorbing anough vitamin d.

Pure-We lived in Hawaii for 4 years and I would go back for just about any reason.  My son was 2 when we moved there and it was the absolute best age.  We spent our days on the beach and got plenty of Vitamin D.  Maybe we should move back that way for the vitamin D....you know be proactive in my health care and all that. Kiss

Until then I guess I will have to just continue with my liquid vitamin D.  I lthink it is easier to absorb.  We buy it online from Costco by the case and then you are in control of how much you drink daily.  My Vitamin D levels were at 70 when checked, but I can't say it was due to the liquid because it was the first and only time they have checked my levels (upon my request).

If you are not absorbing, please be checked for celiac disease. That can keep you from absorbing vitamin D. You can take 5000 iu a day and be ok. max level  is 100 to be toxic. It seems that no one is absorbing Vitamin D . i like to keep my patients around 50 level. Make sure you get your levels rechecked to see where you are at.

Yup, I'm with the other ladies, I don't think this is a sign of recurrence, plus if your onc was worried they would let you know!  So many things can be a factor here, but definitely get out in the sunshine and try to enjoy it!

    Love,
