Akhir-akhir ini istri saya terkena tumor mamae stadium 2 dan dokter menyarankan untuk di operasi untuk pengangkatan payu dara.... apakah ada teman untuk menyarankan alternatif lain selain pengangkatan payu dara.......?? terima kasih atas informasi yang anda berikan...

Lately my wife exposed mammary tumor stage 2 and the doctor advised for surgery for breast removal .... is there a friend to suggest alternatives to the removal of the breast ....... ?? thank you for the information you have provided ...

Anybody knows or hears any story that the breast cancer patients did not take Tamoxifen but still survived more than 10 years?

Blueice2013 I am sure there are many. Tamoxifen I believe has been used for over 40 years. I'm sure there have been women who have survived that have not taken it. It does improve your chances though of both preventing both recurrence and getting a new breast cancer. You need to discuss your individual risk with your doctor. Family history will play a part in your risk as well as your age and other risk factors.

Not takin any of the ALS

Since I found the lump I have been lucky enuf to see 4 great grandchildren...

I try to live every day as if it's the last.

Today is 18 years since my first mx. Unfortunately, new dx Sept 2012 (new, different BC, not a recurrence); second mx was Halloween, 2012. 

For me, celebrating every milestone is important.

I'm a bit early but I just marked 4 years since diagnosis last Monday. I think that is significant enough to give others hope.

I had a lumpectomy, chemo, rads and take Letrozole. I stay close to my doctors. I have a happy life with no lasting side effects, but would have been happier without the experience ;(.

Today is five years for me. Those first few weeks after being diagnosed were so overwhelming, but we get through it one day at a time, right? I'm so grateful for my faith, family and friends and for the wealth of knowledge, the support and encouragement always available to us on this site. Five years!!!    Veda

Thanks Sandie! It is indeed a terrifying journey. In those early days (and beyond!) I had to remind myself to stay in the present and take things a day at a time (sometimes an hour at a time, ha!) and that seemed to help. All the best to you, see you here in five years!  Veda

Sandie I'm about nine months ahead of you - see you in five years:) I really don't know how I would have coped if it hadn't been for this wonderful site, it's so full of support, knowledge and expertise.

Thanks Veda and Songbird68. Been scared today about the future, still can't believe this has happened to me especially when I feel well. I know the vast majority of women with BC are cured and it never comes back but its the not knowing if you are cured or not that is hard to cope with having to live your life not knowing if its going to return. Suppose its all about living in the present as the future is unknown even for people who never had cancer.

Its my birthday on Thursday so have different things planned this week to celebrate it

Anyway I am going to be positive and say see you both in 5 years time

Sandie and Songbird, it's so important to keep encouraging one another here. Those first months are so hard, for me getting through surgery and chemo wasn't the hard part at all (although it wasn't fun!), but I sure have struggled emotionally! So hang in there, I agree with Sandie, see you both here in 5 years!

Thanks Nash54. Got a few things planned this week - meals out with friends tomorrow and Wednesday. Also going to cinema to watch babadook on wednesday, supposed to be scary to get me in the mood for halloween then thursday (my birthday) going out for a family meal. Then on halloween going on a ghostly tour around an old and haunted stately home.

Nice to have something to look forward to before the horrors of surgery in a couples of weeks time xx
