Want positive nodes happy stories with positve hormonal status a bd many years out!
-
Shari there are lots of hormone+ with nodes that are many years out. Remember that hormone+ is the most common. Many don't post because they have moved on. You got some really strong chemo. At your stage you have a very good chance of posting here when you hit 5 years!
-
Thanks.. For uplifting message.. Have my surgery a week fro. Thursday... Wondering if I will still have positive nodes after chemo and what that means if there are... Chemo worked but not as well as if I were her2 positive or triple negative... Tumor still there😥😢

I just wanted to share this great story with my sisters here. Many years ago, while I was being treated for ovarian cancer, I met a sweet nurse who was so kind and came in to tell me at that time she was going through cancer herself and understood my fears....I saw her today and I told her about my ovarian cancer survival journey but was recently diagnosed with TNBC...well...she said, Lisa, remember 17 years ago while you were going through chemo and fighting ovarian? I said yes of course I do....then she told me her journey..she had a huge breast tumor, took chemo and radiation..nodes and nodes..and nodes...then she said, it wasn't until her cousin developed breast cancer that she decided to ask for her old tissues from archives and sent them for receptor status from 17 years ago...she said she was floored because when it came back she saw she had been Triple Negative 17 years ago....never had a recurrence...still doing great!!! Now that's a great Triple Negative Survivor Story...
-
Sounds like that nurse is one of your guardian angels, lelela. What a great story!

but I am calling it 5 years now!
-
Congratulations, proudtospin! Milestones like this deserve more than just a day of celebration anyway - good to get an early start!
-
I just passed 5 years since diagnosis and am doing very well! My huge triple negative tumor disappeared before my eyes during neoadjuvant chemotherapy and I was ecstatic to learn after surgery that I had a pathologic complete response to chemo. Treatment seemed endless at the time, but now seems like a small blip in my life. I've been told that recurrence is unlikely at this point, for which I am grateful. Life is definitely good!
-
10 years out in Oct. 2013! Congrats to all of us at all stages of the journey...just posted a question over in "moving on" about follow-up. Celebrate every day...
