Coming up to 4 years

It's nearly 4 years since my dx and my life has changed so much,

When I was first dx, I was scared stiff. I created a file on my PC for my funeral (it's still there). I looked at the flowers in the garden and really didn't think that I would see them the following year. I held down a stressful job, working long long hours etc.

Now - the flowers sre still blooming, I've taken early retirement, and my main pastime is booking our next holiday. And my family are enjoying having me around more.

My wig (and hospital wear) is in a bag on top of the wardrobe (I'm reluctant to throw it out) but hope I will never need it again.

So far so good.

    Hey Mal!

    Firstly - congratulations!

I recognised your name, but still not sure where from.....did we ever talk in the chat rooms? We are both from UK (I'm in London).

Your sentiments echoed mine exactly; I remember buying a winter jacket just after dx and thinking it was probably a waste of money since I would probably not be around the next year to wear it.

I'mso glad you have been able to change your life and find so much enjoyment in it.

Yes, I say the same words......So far, so good.

    Sam xx
