I am very nervous...

I have triple negative breast cancer and have been diagnosed with a return of cancer close to the same area treated last year. Has anyone experienced this. I had a lumpectomy in Dec 2010 chemo ACx4 dose dense followed by 12 weeks of taxol. Followed by 7 weeks of radiation. I meet with dr tomorrow for multi dis meeting again. I had lots of staging tests done last week. I am trying to stay positive and strong but am very nervous to hear what they have to say.

Is it in your breast still? I think the forum that says 2nd or 3rd breast cancer might be for you and give you hope.  As awful as it sounds, there are women who have gone through it more than once, but who ultimately do fine.

    Hi Kerglid

If this new cancer is close to your first it is probably a recurrence and not a second primary. Have you any further information yet? I know if must be such a shock - especially after you have been through chemo etc so recently. I had a new primary in my other breast but after a bilateral mast I am doing fine. I know how awful it must be for you but stick with it and trust that your medical team will do what they can to rid you of this. The earlier this is caught the better and it sounds like this recurrence has been caught early.

Sending all my best wishes from the UK and please let us know how you are doing.

    Kerglid24,

I just recently went through the same thing.  I got a new lump in basically the same spot as the last one.  Was told it was the same tumor so either the lumpectomy failed or the chemo failed or the radiation failed.  This time I had a BMX.  I hope this will be the end of it but who knows....I thought I was done with it last time.

I am sorry you have to deal with this again.  Please let me know if I can help.  Good luck to you.  Remember "If God brings you to it....He will bring you through it".  Namaste'.
