yoga pants & soft tops you can get on with out having to raise your hands over you head.

I had a corrset I had to wear home, so I pinned my drains to the top of that.  I had my drains about a month.  NJ

I cut some men's cotton t shirts to put on not over the head and closed with safety pins. These were a kind of liner to protect my clothes and to have something very soft next to my incision areas. Pinned my drains to these, too. My PS did not put me in compression; they are all different on that point.

I am scheduled for Diep surgery in London on Sept 11/2012.  I will be travelling from Windsor and just wondering if anyone else had a distance to travel for their surgery.  Was it very uncomfortable with the drains on the way home and how long do they stay on.  I am planning to take a month off work , is that enough or too much time off ?  Thanks for all respones.

I bought some long Indian tunics that buttoned up the front and wore the tunic over a long, flowing drawstring skirt and a button up camisole.  It was perfect - hid the drains and I could adjust the pressure of the clothing to my comfort.  Plus didn't need to bother about underwear.

I didn't wear underwear for the first six weeks.  Wore my husbands button up shirts for the first 10 days and was determine to feel somewhat normal so I used my arms and put on a large tshirt.  Drains were just around my neck in a long necklace.  Wore loose yoga pants but didn't swell nearly like I had expected.   Also got myself some pretty jammies from Soma that were that bamboo cotton that kept me cool.  Comfort is all you need to think about.  Whatever works, do it.  OH best thing ever was a massage from a woman who did post surgery massages.  Awesome and so worth it. Good luck.
