Next Friday I have my 1 year visit with my oncologist and now have to make a pit-stop at my surgeon's office. I have just found an elongated lump (3/4") very close to my areola on my "good" breast. When I lay on my back and use a mirror it can be seen as well as felt. I don't know how I never noticed this. I am neurotic about checking my breasts. Did this just grow over-night?? What are the chances it's related to the cancer in the other breast? I had just about put all of this in the past and am now freaking out....especially with 2 summer trips planned. Have any of you ladies had this happen.

I just had this happen about 2 weeks ago on the "good" side.  I could feel a palpable lump along the inner edge near my sternum.  The nurse and my oncologist both felt it.  They sent me for a diagnostic sonogram at the first available time slot.  I was sweating buckets.  The radiologist showed me that it was a "thickening" of ductal tissue and that she was 100% sure it was nothing even with my history.  She then showed me that it looked just like my other tissue.  She mentioned that I could have my surgeon remove it if it causes me too much worry.  Right now, the last thing I want is another surgery - even minor.  So, I'll be back in 6 months for another look.

How do we stop stressing?  Every pain or soreness in either my new or good side gets me panic stricken.

Sorry for not posting my result sooner but who would have thought.......the large hard elongated lump was a mondor!!! I have never heard of Mondor's Disease but that was what my lump was. Hearing that was like music to my ears. From the day I noticed it to the time it took to go away was about 4weeks. So yes.....great news:-)))
