I think that only psychiatrists can prescribe meds, not therapists or psychologists. Your oncologist might have some suggestions about psychs who deal with cancer patients.

General practitioner/primary doctor can also prescribe medication, as can your oncologist I presume. Talk to your primary doctor about your emotional problems and he/she will be able to prescribe an antidepressant or antianxiety medication. The doctor should check that the prescription is compatible with other medication you are taking. This is especially important if you are on Tamoxifen.

You can get a referral to a psychologist or counsellor from your primary doctor, oncologist or cancer support service. I recommend a therapist who has experience working with cancer patients. Some services may offer free counselling.

Come here again if you need more help with this. (I am not in US so can't recommend specific services).
