What constitutes being a Breast Cancer Survivor?  Do you have to be in remission for 5 years to be considered a Breast Cancer Survivor?  Please explain the term I don't want to use it in conversation incorrectly.  Thanks

Tvanvossen, the interpretation of the term will vary from person to person, but for many it can be as simple as describing someone who has or has had breast cancer. The definition doesn't rely on a length of time in remission.

As the Mods said it varys from person to person i have seen where a lot of them will say after they finished treatments. Some wont use that word but rather say NED (no evidence of disease)

Debbie, Thank you for your response and your verbage of NED.  After receiving your response I currently am one of those people who would prefer to say.... "No evidence of Disease" at this time. My six month check up is in 3 weeks.  Thanks so much! Hugs to All! :-)
