I am not the best gardener and little incentive to put a lot of energy into a real veggie garden because of our beautiful neighborhood deer who are my new best friends.  We've only lived on our property for a year or two.. the soil is fairly spent (it's an old cow farm).    I did plant concorde grapes, asparagus, rhubarb and they all survived our drought and have come up nicely.

Thankfully, they leave my spice (and greens) garden alone, at least so far. I love walking out the door and picking a salad or herbs for flavoring.  I will try tomatoes in buckets on my deck maybe.. see if the deer will leave them alone.
