PMS and LE - more swelling?

My mild LE went haywire past week and I could not find any rhyme or reason to it.  I had been eating very healthy, moving, wearing compression.  I did end up with a 48 hour bout of a "flu" so I suspect that may have contributed BUT......this am, I got my period more than a week or so early.  As I am still pre-menopause - and I guess getting peri-menopausal, it dawned on me that maybe the LE was worse (I had awful truncal and breast LE - tingling pain, swelling, no comfort from various bras) from PMS?!  I was also so down in the dumps, so very depressed and I thought it was all attributable to the LE, but now I am thinking it was extreme PMS?  Anyone else notice a correlation to their menstrual cycle?  If I had only known that I was going to be irregular, it might have dawned on me before hand.  I really spent most of last week thinking I was going "crazy" between the swelling, the discomfort and the blues!  Does any of this make sense?

Catherine, I saw your post yesterday, insane day at work, and just assumed there would be a chorus of "me too".

    Well, me too.

I'm on tamoxifen, 3.8 years of it, still perimenopausal at 53, and I definitely both flare and get horribly emotional with tamoxifen PMS.

It makes complete sense, I now my periods are getting few and far between, so I can't attribute the foul moods and flare to them as often, but when they were more regular, it was so predictable, only I never figured it out until the period hit.

    Kira,

Thank you, thank you for responding.  I thought maybe I was the only one still having periods - LOL!  I feel so much better and less swollen this week (and since i'm feeling better mentally, i'm doing better at self-care). Such a vicious cycle!!  At least I know I am not crazy and maybe I can do a better job at tracking this.
