Because I'd already had an appt scheduled for some time (takes a while to get in with the VA), about one week after dx, it just so happened I had an Annual Phys with my Primary Dr.  Because for the past several years I've been having too many and then too few cycles, I've been seeing Gyn for U/S and add in the BC and of course I was sent to Gyn. Gyn ordered an U/S as usual.   She also told me we should talk after I recover from the Bmx about removing the ovaries if not a total hyst.  So on 3/5 I had an U/S.

It was compared to the last one I had in 2010.  I'd blown off the one scheduled for 2011.  There's something to follow up on with the Left one.  Okay, so now with the BC of course I'm doing all I can to keep myself grounded and level-headed about all this.

Left ovary - 2.7 x 1.2 x 1.3 cm.  A 1.3 x 1.2 x 1.5 cm paraovarian or exophytic follicle is noted in the region of the left ovary.  Follow-up in three months is recommended to ensure resolution or stability.

Right ovary - 1.3 x 1.1 x 1.7 cm and unremarkable.

Also have a small fibroid involved with the uterus and complex nabothian cysts in the cervix.

SNB was clear and CA125 for past few years has been normal.

There's a cyst on the left ovary with one of the the three dimension almost doubled in size. It shouldn't be cancerous, since no nodes were involved and the CA125 cancer marker was good. But of course my mind went there first until I thought about it logically. Still a tad bit scary of course.

Appears to be the type of cyst that if it keeps growing would burst and be dangerous, from my own research. Will see the Gyn to review it and she's the one wants to remove them any way because of the breast cancer. She'd prefer a total hyster but I don't want to remove the main support of the pelvic floor like that.

I guess I'm looking to learn that this would be rare to be cancerous.  Not that rare doesn't run in my family, but I'd feel better.

thanks!  Sally

That would be rare for that to be cancer.  Your US report shows that which is fairly common.  Generally a worrisome cyst would be much larger than yours.  A follow up US to make sure its not growing (as they recommended) would be good.  This is something to be attentive to, but not loose sleep over.

Thanks.  You know how this would freak me out.  I appreciate it!
