Hello All.  I'm Jennifer. I was diagnosed on Feb 8th w/ DCIS.  Had an MRI before my initial consult at SCCA. They found multiple other masses that they said were most likely Fibroadnomas, but it seems like the more in read and understand, the higher the chance that they are more seirous. .The ones in my right breast are BIRADS Catagory 4, they were all oval with smooth margins, but they were also Heterogenous with a Rapid/Washout contrast Kinetic pattern. The doc's reccommended biopsy, but then I said that I was going to opt for a BMX and they said that they would just look at them after surgery. Here's my dilema.. If they turn out to be invasive cancer, then the reccommendation would be to wait for reconstruction till after chemo or radiation right? I wanted to do it all at once with DIEP. Do they only reccommend chemo and radiation if the nodes are positive? Even if the cancer is invasive? Just trying to figure out my options. Will probobly get the biopsy anyway so there are no suprises. Anyone elce have "probobly just fibroadanomas" that turned out to be cancerous?

Thanks. This site and board are great!

This is weird timing, as I *just* had an MRI today and the right boob ('the bad boob') didn't have any surprises, DCIS... but the left boob had a lump that she thinks is Fibroadnomas, but wants to check.  It was a bit of a surprise, to say the least.  I go in on Tuesday for the left boob to have the biopsy.  Good luck to you!

Even if it is invasive you can still have the expanders put in and then if you should need any chemo or radiation you do that and later go on to continue with the reconstruction. As you can see my path was IDC but I needed no further treatment other than AI's.Good luck wioth your upcoming surgery.
