Uppity Women Unite!
The BCO moderators have asked that politics stay off the boards as much as possible. Therefore I invite you to join an-off BCO email list where politics can be discussed: http://groups.google.com/group/uppity-women-unite

Cycle-path ... it looks like fun! Not sure if I signed up correctly or not.
Thanks,
Bren

Looks like a lot of fun! Hard to get away from politics when we have idiots in Washington making decisions about women's healthcare.
-
Good idea cycle-path!
I always enjoy the company of Uppity Women! Having trouble with my Google password but will try to get that fixed and come visit you.
-
Actually, you can join via email by sending a blank email to uppity-women-unite+subscribe@googlegroups.com
See ya'll there!
-
Thanks cycle! I understand why the Mods want to keep this site free of politics (I joined BCO in 2008 and it did get pretty hot and heavy -- oh my, that's an understatement!) and so I really appreciate that you've set up a site for us "uppity women"! See you there!
-
When you join the discussion list, I have to approve you. I had to choose that option in order to keep the discussions from being searchable. But anyway, if I don't approve you right away it's because I'm off having a Real Life. I'll get back to you soon.
-
I don't have a Google account so thanks for the info on how to join. You'll be hearing from me!
See y'all there!
-
Beesie .. I didn't have a google account either .. it was really easy to sign up.
See y'all later,
Bren

just went to your page and I ADORE ADORE ADORE your self description of being a Born Again Feminist. Even tho I've never "lapsed" I'm gonna STEAL it.
In exchange, please enjoy the little wall hanging, next to my Purple Satin Gowned Kitchen Witch:
"If the broom fits, ride it."
If we "join" Google, doesnt' that mean they have that new non provacy program where they can "follow" you all over the web?????
-
I lean pretty far to the right....can I still join?? Love political conversations.
-
I "applied" to join. Hopefully I did it right. I definitely belong in that uppity woman category!
-
cycle-path
Just love that name!
Notice that you and others who posted here are from stage 0 to II I was dx stage IV from the start last summer.
Also I'm 65,but have been very uppity and opinionated since my teens.
Thanks,Cheryl

Sunflowers: If we "join" Google, doesnt' that mean they have that new non provacy program where they can "follow" you all over the web?????
Honestly, I don't know. But you can subscribe to the list without getting a google account. If you don't know how, just ask.
spendygirl: You're very very welcome to join, as long as you understand that you're going to be completely outnumbered! I actually find that if everyone in a group is in agreement about something, the discussions are pretty boring. So I think it will be good to have you there. As time goes on we'll see how it works out.
-
Hey there! I clicked the "contact manager" or something to that effect...I hope that was the right way! Looking forward to joining your conversation!
-
Hi CLC! I just approved you. A moment before I emailed a long introductory message to the group.
Anyone who thinks they're subscribed but didn't get the email I just sent, let me know and I'll see what I can figure out.
-
Sounds like fun, but I cannot figure out how to join. Guess I'm an idiot. Can someone help?
-
Sorry, I am a little confused. If I don't have a google account I just send a blank email to the email you provided above and then I can join, or do I need to create a google account to join?
-
I'm not sure if I signed up right???
-
I joined....I think...hope to hear from you soon cycle-path. Thanks for the idea.
-
catbill: I'm willing to bet you're not an idiot. Here's what you do. Create a new email message in your email program. Address the message to uppity-women-unite+subscribe@googlegroups.com
You don't need to write anything in the message. Just press send.
ProudMom: I don't think you have to create a google account, but I'm not sure. I think you're ok just sending the email. Try it and let's see.
Spendygirl: I just approved a couple of new members, maybe you're one of them. I'm reluctant to post anyone's email address, but are the first two letters of your email address "ch?" If so, I just approved you.
Proudmom, are the first two letters of your email address "dr?" I just approved that one too.
Athena: yep, you joined.
-
cycle -- I tried the email address and it came back! Then I tried something else (at the suggestion of one of us) and it didn't come back. Wondering if you got it okay?
-
Thank you for approving me
-
Hey, I'm still pending. :-)
-
I'm on. I joined with my hotmail addy.
-
Well, I sent a blank email. Hope I did it correctly.
-
Thanks cycle-path, but political discussions on BCO got so contentious, and at my advanced age, I have no tolerance for what the Republican Party is "preaching" - so I'll just keep my uppity Liberal ideas offline ;-))))
Still don't get how you can do it without having a Google account...
-
Thanks cycle-path...see you there!

Oh my gosh, years back, in the 70s, one of my friends was wearing a button with this phrase. Have been looking for that Uppity Women Unite button for many years! I LOVE uppity women.
