any risk from roller coasters?

I know I'm low risk for lymphedema due to only having 3 nodes removed.  It's not something I've really been concerned about.  I'm in between TC treatments and feeling good, and planning on taking the kids to Six Flags this week while they're on spring break.

We're a thrill ride family... we ride everything.  But when I mentioned this to a friend over the weekend, she said that she thought I couldn't ride due to lymphedema risks.  I haven't been able to find any information about this... so before calling my doctor to ask I thought I'd check with the group here.

So anyone ever heard about risks from riding roller coasters?

Wow, Ruthie, I think you stumped us all! I have no idea about this, but I'd guess there could be some concern from the rapid pressure changes involved, as well as the death-grip on the safety bar. Might be a good idea to wear a long-sleeve UnderArmour type sport shirt -- a size smaller than you'd normally wear, and inside out so the seams don't irritate your skin (most of the women here prefer the men's shirts for fit and comfort) -- and go easy with that hand on the bar. Stay really well hydrated.

Do let us know how it all works out! Enjoy!

We went and had a great time!  No worries about death grips on the safety bar... hands in the air!

No ill effects so far, and I'm glad we went.  I stayed well hydrated and did avoid the one with the really rough g-forces.

Cancer is scary... roller coasters are not!
