Hints for stage 3 sister about to start xeloda

I had neo (12 taxol and 4 DD AC), then MX, then rads. Now I am supposed to start The Big X.



I have read all the SE possibilities. I have white cotton gloves, cera vie cream and a petroleum based cream. I have compazine, imodium on hand and zofran refill available.



I am going out of town for a daughter's horse show this coming weekend. I am debating whether to take the Xeloda starting today when I get it or wait 7 more days. Until after the show. I have not had chemo since the end of September. Would waiting a week be stupid? Lord knows, i don't want to give any random floaters a chance to settle in as mets.



What would you do? Be nervous and uncomfortable out of town or wait until in the comfort of home to start?

I'm curious - why the Xeloda? Are you on a trial or is it just your onc's plan?

i am not sure when you posted this. but there is not much of a chance of your getting horrible side effects immediately from the xeloda as far as i know.  it takes awhile.  so, i would start the med right away.

@posh, it became my onc's plan after MX and path report. He said it was locally advanced BC and that he wanted to add the Xeloda. I didn't even have 50% reduction in tumor size from neo. I had the vast majority of reduction after 1st round of each chemo type, using exterior palpation and ultrasound. Then minimal reduction for remaining rounds of each chemo.



He wants to catch anything that may have broken away from tumor, I think is what he said.

Oh, does taking anastrozole protect me if I started next week?

That's so great the your onc is giving you the extra chemo. He/she sounds like a very good onc!

Started Xeloda today. What exercise (cardio) is good? No multiple-B vitamins?
