Returning custom garments

Does anyone know the time frame to return a custom garment from Jobst to have it re-made? I got measured for a custom Elvarex glove from Jobst on 2-13-12 and the date on the package says 2-16-12. My therapist called in early March saying it was in, but she hadn't received the pre-authorization back from my insurance, so I said I didn't want to take it until I was sure it was covered. (Rookie mistake, next time I'll drive the 45 mins. to make sure it fits.) I actually got it Tues. March 6. It's too small in the fingers, I thought it would stretch out, but no such luck. Blue fingertips are DEFINITELY not good. I'm hoping I can plead the insurance snafu and get it remade. Otherwise I may have to pay out of pocket. (sigh)

Call/email them and ask. My custom garments are from Juzo and 1 sleeve has been sent back and 3 gloves. I'm in a different situtation - my LE guy orders mine thru VA and I go up and get them. Problems - I take them back and VA deals with them.

It's custom and should fit: I think the clock should run from the time you received the glove. I also had to have Juzo remake my gloves--once it was 5 times, another time they got it right on the second try, and currently I have 2 that were sent back for short fingers.

You are not responsible for a glove that doesn't fit: return it and they need to remake it. Glove making is fraught with mistakes.

I know Jobst used to be tougher than Juzo on the returns, but it's either the fitter or the manufacturer who messed up, and you should not be responsible for it.

Kira--waiting for the next set of Juzo custom gloves to come back

I have Jobst and my understanding from my therapist is that you have two weeks from receiving them.  Mine at first make my thumb and pointer finger numb so I put a round tube of something in after washing for a few nights and it takes care of it.  I was told to try that first before returning.  Someone else said they put a C battery in.  I have had remakes done though and there did not seem to be a problem.  It was always through my therapist.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Becky, It is the thumb and index that is exceptionally tight. I tried stretching with markers I was at school and they we're handy, but I didn't to think to do it wet. I'll give that a try. My fitter is gone until Wed. Her assistant is checking on a possible return timeframe. So I guess I will try the water method and see if that helps. In the meantime, I am wearing the old glove with bandages wrapped over... I sure hope Solaris gets going on their day garments. Anyone hear anything?
