Her2 Negative

Hello I see most have Her2 positive my test show im Her2 Negative I have . Er Positive, PR Negative. Newly diagones with Invasive ducal Carcinoma stage 2....I had my lumpectomy and dont quite understand this pathology report. Sometiemes I dont understand what the doctor tells me......Whatt is her2 negative is it worse then if I was positve?? Thank you

Actually, HER2 positive cancer is usually more aggressive.  Thankfully, in the past few years they have come out with some targeted therapies for us HER2 + girls that have really helped many women.

If you are ER positive, it means that in addition to chemo (if necessary for you), you can also take a hormonal drug such as Tamoxifen that will help reduce your risk of recurrence.

(Also, most do NOT have HER2 positive.  If I am remembering correctly, only about 20% of breast cancer is HER2 positive.)
