using prostaglandin drugs for glaucoma

Hi, I am 15 years a survivor and now have glaucoma. My doctor has given me
a prostaglandin in drop form. I am concerned because it is a hormone. Any thoughts
as to the safety of this drug for a survivor? It is a hormone.
