Menstruation back after 5 years?

Hi all,

I started chemo in August 2006 and Tamoxifen in November 2006 had last period September 2006 at 43 years old. After 5 years Nov. 2011 I stopped taking Tamoxifen and now today March 6 2012 I have started my period I think. Has anyone else gone through this? The doc's have said I was done with all that and was in menopause, I am almost 49 years old and don't think I can handle it anymore. I have been having blood in my urine that there is no cause for.

I have a doctor's appointment next week and I'll see what he says, but I really need to hear from others that may have gone through this.

I'm not sure I would wait until next week to get checked out, especially if your appointment is not with a gynecologist.  Tamoxifen can stop your period, and starting again 4 months after stopping the Tamoxifen would not be out of line, but some of the other sources of blood in the urine, including infection, are best addressed as quickly as possible.

Thanks PatMom, I've been checked by a few doc's for the blood in the urine and they can't find a cause, they did find out I have a ureterocele but said that was not causing it. I tested neg for everything that could cause it, Had cystoscopy,mri's and nothing not even a UTI but enlarged uterus and ureterocele.Just scares me a little plus always had long painfull periods and not looking forward to them again.
