Anyway....I'm in this field and no, that insurance broker is not accurate. He or she is trying to sell you something.
And, Birdylady, I'm sorry to say that you have a good bit of misinformation. If you have questions about insurance and coverage, i can try to answer them. I would caution you, as I caution everyone, not to believe all you hear, to read everything for yourself twice, and to challenge a story or "fact" before retelling it. I'm afraid that someone has told you a few whoppers.
I'm glad that you found comfort in a Catholic hospital. As to being prescribed birth control you didn't want or need, I would definitely talk to the doctor(s) involved. Someone wrote and signed a prescription, based on either a conversation, medical data or error; I would probably want to know why and how that came to be -- no matter what medication it was. I have never heard of that being prescribed hours after giving birth for any reason, so I would definitely pursue.

SSI IS disability.
Disability is a legal term for purposes of government benefits, whether they be federal or state. Different agencies have a say in how disability is determined. SSI and SSDI are determined using the same basic criteria of disability, although one is income-dependent too.
IDEA determines educational disability. No funds go to the child, BUT federal funds do go to districts as this is a funding mandate.

I think the mods need to delete this thread. It's amazing how the women who proclaim how loving they are are causing such mischief. If one can't argue a point what happens? I won't stay on here long because I can feel my BP going up, up, up.

I was told by my local radio talk host broker that if a woman testifies in congress about the need for contraceptive coverage, she must be a prostitute.
ETA: That was what I was told. It was a broker who told me that.

My jewelry broker told me that the world was flat and that it was only round for people with head colds -and that if the republicans took over the world would go flat for stage IV people too.
Anyone else care to join in the nonsense poetry?
(Aside to self: I thought Brietbart was dead.)

Really, I thought Brietbart was dead. Maybe he has clones.

First of all, I really think the Breitbart comments are totally unnecessary.
And, the government, according to the constitution, is to provide certain protections
BTW, NONE of my three daughters went to public school. So, should the government pay me? They had no help from the government with their college tuition. They had help from Mom and Dad!
You see, Athena, I don't feel the government owes my DH and myself one red penny BECAUSE we CHOSE to send our daughters to private schools and we CHOSE to pay for their education. Oh my! Actually, I do wish the government would pay us back for the money we "invested" in their weddings.
Athena, are you aware of the horrible names that conservative women have been called?
Kirsten Powers wrote this column who happens to a liberal. If your interested (and I know most of you are not) read on to see what the liberals have said about women....conservative women.

Rush Limbaugh apologized on Saturday for calling a Georgetown Law student a slut for testifying about contraception and starting a firestorm of outrage. Kirsten Powers says the liberals who led the charge need to start holding their own side accountable.
Did you know there is a war on women?
Yes, it's true. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, and Ed Schultz have been waging it for years with their misogynist outbursts. There have been boycotts by people on the left who are outraged that these guys still have jobs. Oh, wait. Sorry, that never happened.
Boycotts are reserved for people on the right like Rush Limbaugh, who finally apologized Saturday for calling a 30-year-old Georgetown Law student, Sandra Fluke, a "slut" after she testified before congress about contraception. Limbaugh's apology was likely extracted to stop the departure of any more advertisers, who were rightly under pressure from liberal groups outraged by the comments.
And she said:
After all, if Limbaugh's outburst is part of the "war on women," then what is the routine misogyny of liberal media men?

You can read more of her aricle if you CHOOSE.
AND, there's "no war on women". That's one big fabrication (big fat lie!) from the left. This Fluke thing is about Freedom OF Religion. She went to Georgetown U. for a reason. If you want info, google. The woman lied. And Rush made a huge mistake by playing right into her hands. Yes, the prez called her to make sure this 30 year old woman was "okay". REALLY? I wonder how many vets who have been killed or wounded has he called?
Nuff said!
On to Medicare: SNIP
Obamacare Cost | HHS Director Admits Double Counting Funds
During a hearing on Capitol Hill Thursday, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) admitted to double-counting in the Obamacare budget.
In her first appearance before the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee since the health-care law passed, Kathleen Sebelius responded to a line of questioning by Republican Rep. John Shimkus of Illinois about whether $500 billion in Medicare cuts were used to sustain the program or pay for the law.
"There is an issue here on the budget because your own actuary has said you can't double-count," said Shimkus. "You can't count - they're attacking Medicare on the CR when their bill, your law, cut $500 billion from Medicare."
He continued: "Then you're also using the same $500 billion to what? Say your funding health care. Your own actuary says you can't do both. [...] What's the $500 billion in cuts for? Preserving Medicare or funding the health-care law?
Sebelius' reply? "Both."
The Obama administration and HHS have been criticized previously for double-counting. In a report last summer, HHS claimed a provision in the health-care law would extend the Medicare trust fund by 12 years. The Congressional Budget Office released a memo that said HHS's math was more than a little off.
Read on, if you CHOOSE.
Have you heard about THIS! OMG! Take care of the terrorist, but cut military insurance who's body parts have been blown off by the terrorists or other health problems. UNBELIEVALBE.
