The buddy kemp house has a support group. It doesn t matter which hospital you use you can attend this group. I don t often get a chance to attend since I work and meetings are during the day. I will be attending as soon as school is out.

Hi Kim,
I live in Charlotte and my name is Kim. I'm looking for women to connect with as well. I'm 43 and was diagnosed with stave iv last June. I'm on hormonal therapy, Femara. I haven't had a mastectomy or chemo yet. I go to Duke every 3 months for CT and bone scans. I just went last week and no progression, so good news.
God bless,
Kim

I'm in Hickory - an hour away. I got to Baptist in Winston Salem so not a lot of local support groups for me either. Not sure I fit in though with all of you in Charlotte either.

Hi KimP. I am in the Lake Norman area but all my Doctors are in Charlotte. I really have not attended any support groups in the area but I have seen signs about support groups through the Blumenthal Cancer Center. The YMCA also has some cancer support groups but they are not exclusive to breast cancer. Would love to meet some ladies from the area.
Have a great day.....

I am in Rock Hill, just over the state line, but all of my doctors are in Charlotte.

Hey Kim-
It sounds like you're really busy with your treatments and traveling to Duke. Fortunately, for me the furthest I've had to travel has been uptown Charlotte.
It appears that whoever manages the discussion boards has removed your phone number. Can you send your number and email in a private message? I'd like to reach out to you.

Hello gbusse and mspradley-
I am going to see my doctor on Thursday to get my schedule. As soon as I find out what that looks like and then possibly get through one chemo treatment to see how I do, I will start reaching out to see how we can pull all of us together!
Take Care!

Kim, Good Luck on Thursday at the Dr's. Just let me know when you feel like chatting or meeting.

Good luck with your appointment. My Dr. Fabulous is Steven Limentani and I usually go to his Ballentyne office (Carolina's Hemotology/Oncology).
-
mspradley-I'll be at Carolina's Hemotology at Ballantyne too! Love the Dr. Fabulous comment!!...Mine is Dr. Frenette. Who knows? I may pass you in the hallway and not know it! :-)
-
Mspradley, My Dr. fabulous is also Dr. Limentani. I go to his Charlotte office. Next time I see him I have to tell him the Dr. Fabulous nickname.
Good Luck Kim

I'm in Fort Mill, SC, just over the state line. I also see Dr. Limentani every six months now that I'm three years out.
