I was wondering how other young ladies in their child bearing years decide on what kind of reconstruction to get.  Since my skin has been irradiated, i have been told that implants arent suitable.  Latissimus dorsi flap was recommended.  .abdominal flap wasnt recommended because I want to have kids in the future.

I am not liking the idea of cutting up my muscles.  I would like to try implants or abdominal muscle sparing flap.  Has anyone had a tummy flap reconstruction who was planning on getting pregnant?

    I haven't had kids yet.

I have had radiation and implants are not suitable.

What if I get DIEP or muscle sparing TRAM... will it cause complications if I get pregnant?

Will my tummy stretch out enough?  Will the incision open up or look like crap?

(... I accidently deleted my original thread, but meant to edit :s Ooops)

Hi NannaBaby - I wrote on your other post but wanted to write here as well since its more recent.

I have to wait until after my stage 2 surgery for my DIEP, first stage was done almost 3 weeks ago. I am 28 and don't have kids yet but my doctor said I can get pregnant normally and have the baby vaginally as well, or do a c-section if preferred. But all my doctors said I would be able to have a baby normally after DIEP because they just use fat from the stomach, not the muscle.
