Hey everyone,

Well after being diagnosed @ 29 in Nov with ADH and having a lumpectomy in late dec I thought I was in the clear for 6 mths. Guess not. I had a nagging feeling that I should get an MRI done. It took my ins 1 1/2 to approve the MRI but Im glad I pushed for it.

On my left breast they detected 3 new lesions that werent there in Nov and on my once clear (well behaved) right breast there are 2. Ive contacted my surgeon and Im awating his call on what the new findings could be and if were going on round 2 of biopsies. Should I push for a biopsy even though it might not be needed. Thanks for letting me vent a bit.

I am so sorry to hear you are going through this again.  Pesky little cells aren't they?  I am trying to get a MRI approved for my one year check up.  I have not heard anything yet. I know that there is a chance that the MRI will pick up things that are not a threat, but I am willing to take that chance.  I have very dense breast ( I started to type breasts, but I realized I really only need to type the singular breast Tongue out) and after my UMX the pathologist found another area of DCIS and an area of ADH that did not appear on my mammos.

If it were me, I would bx. them.  Try to stay calm if you can.  Lots of deep, cleansing breathes.  You will be in my thoughts.

Thanks ladies mmk no there is no family history I'm the first with ADH. I spoke with my surgeon today and he doesn't seem concerned and wants me to have a mammo and ultrasound in may and in Sept a MRI again to check for progression and then biopsy if there is I might get a second opinion as it seems that on the radiology report my tata's are busy. From the report i got in the mail today it states:

Right breast has a type 3 enhancement @ 12 o'clock, 2 areas @ 9 o'clock that are suspicious enhancing lesions and they are 0.5 cm from each other.

    Left breast : benign enhancement @ 6 where lumpectomy was done in Dec. there's a type 2 @ 5 o'clock, a type 3 @ 12 o'clock and an enhancing lesion @ 3 o'clock. I'm being short on it there's alot to type.

Openheart if my ins covered a preventive bmx Id do it in a heartbeat they don't.Frown  Hopefully my company switches to another ins thats better.

Mommy - I was not recommending that you have a preventitive BMX, I was was saying that if it were me, I would biopsy.  Sorry for the confusion.   Getting a second opinion may be a good first step.
