Hematoma after biopsy?

I had a vacuum-assisted stereotactic biopsy on Monday. There was a bit more bleeding than anticipated during and after the procedure, and I have a 4-5 cm. hematoma. (And some very impressive bruising...) The radiologist tried to drain the area, but was unable to do so. It is quite painful and is now starting to itch. I was icing it the first couple of days... would heat help more at this stage?
