10-Year Anniversary
Despite reaching this decade of being BC free, I have to admit, I've had very few days I haven't thought of BC. I guess it's just there forever. But, the fear has subsided a great deal. It's an occasional moment of panic with many months of it just being back there--way back there. I do enjoy life very much, find beauty everywhere and continue to take care of myself.
All of you are carried in my heart, and whenever I'm near candles I light one for my BC sisters. Peace and courage.

Congratulation ladies, and many more decades in good health. I just love to reading your uplifting stories because they allow me to hope that there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Congrats, Maya!! I just passed my 10 year point, too. There's always some kind of thought about bc. It may not be the early-stage ruminations and constant worries, but it is part of our lives now. And because I come to this board, I am reminded daily.
Here's hoping you have many more years to celebrate!!!

Thanks ladies. I'm so happy to hear from all of you who have gone even farther in the journey AFTER BC. It's the kind of encouragment we all need.
Sierra: Je connais un peu le francais. Assez pour s'en sortir. I love the language too. Also some Spanish. Whenever I visit a new country I learn enough to be polite--and ask for directions!

I have also just reached my ten year anniversary. I've been spending a lot of time mulling over what this means to me and what it means for my future. The two strongest thoughts that have come to me is to celebrate what has turned out to be the happiest ten years of my life, and to keep "putting one foot in front of the other".

I have also recently passed my 10 year milestone. Congratulations to all of you.
Beautiful, uplifting posts. We are all still in the bc world,(I still visit the boards daily).....but must try and think of ourselves as 'ABC' (after bc) !
So far, so good........
