anyone else miss their mom that is not with them anymore

I lost my Mom on March 23, 2004.  I lost my stepfather on October 24, 2004, exactly 7 months and 1 day from my Mom.  She will be gone 8 years this coming Friday.  I miss her so much.  I need so badly for her to hug me and kiss me and tell me everything's gonna be alright.  She passed away at the age of 81 from complications of lung cancer.  She is my adoptive Mom but the only Mother I ever had.  The Judge told her at my adoption hearing (I was 6 months old) that anyone can have a baby, but it takes someone special to be a mother.  And what a mother she was.  I learned my work ethics, strength and determination from her.  Somehow, I just know everything's going to be okay.  I now have custody of my 2 grandbabies (5 and 2) and I am determined to not let this cancer get me until I can get them raised.
