Could someone pease post the Facebook site? Thanks so much. Wondering when the next get together is, and it appears new aces are welcome.
Thanks beatmon -
HAPPY NEW YEAR SISTAHS!! It was wonderful seeing you all in Vegas, I just wish I hadn't been so sick! It's the second year where I became sick while there. :-(
I would like some info from you gals with bone mets. I'm not too sure if I should worry but I have been having lots and lots of pain in my neck and elbows. It wakes me up at night because it hurts so bad. I'm not sure if it's just arthritis or bone mets. What's your opinion??
Missing you all but feel the comfort knowing that we are always here for each other!!
HUGS!! Jazzy
-
Jazzy...maybe you have a pinched nerve in your neck? Have you been to a doctor?
-
Happy New Year, everyone. Just talked to Cheryl (Heymoose) last night and we talked about the next reunion trip. Did we pin down the dates? I need to make sure I put in for the time off! Wouldn't miss it for the world!
-
Jazzy, I am not familar with bone mets, but you may want to discuss this with your oncologist. Miss you and hope you are not sick for our 5th anniversary.
Beatmon, I see you have been recently diagnoised w BC. I hope you are doing well with your recovery. The next get together will be the last weekend in September in Las Vegas and will be our 5th Anniversary of the TA TA Sisterhood. We would love to have you join us. Tracyz will post the information in the get together forum. If you would like to join the facebook site, send Estepp a pm on bc.org. Hope to meet you in Vegas.
Hugs to all my Sista's hope you are doing well.
Cheryl

Hey Robin, we are following each other. Hugs
-
Jazzy, I had pain in my fermur that lasted several days a few months ago, and my first thought was mets. The pain died down and went away after awhile. Later when I saw my oncologist for my 6 month I asked him about mets and how to tell. He said that the pain from bone mets does not come and go and that it is constant and only gets worse daily. If you are concerned please call your oncologist. Xoxo
-
Jazzy it is better to get it checked out than to live with the pain and find out later it is mets and has gotten bad - hence almost losing my legs in Feb 2012. Love you girl - HUGS
Happy New Year to all of my Tata Sisters!!
-
Beatmon -- there is a private facebook group. There is nothing to post here -- no link -- you have to be added to the group (as is the case with all private facebook groups)... contact Estepp here on BCO if you want to know more.
-
Happy New Year Ladies!!
Jazzy-I had some issues with bone pain that started about a year after my DX. It went on for quite some time and while constant, would get worse with activity. I did talk to my onco about it and do remember as part of that conversation being told it is unusual for mets to occur in the knees and elbows. I hope you place a call to your onco and talk this over with her. Maybe this is a reaction to your maintenance medication. Hugs to you sweetie.
Saskie-You are simply amazing and inspirationa! I was just looking at pictures from Vegas and I've got to say, you have the most energizing smile and laugh! Hugs to you too!!
-
Jazzy -- so sorry -- I somehow missed your question. I just wanted to join the chorus: ask your onc! It is probably arthritis... best to find out! I believe they can do x-rays to see what is happening (I had some knee pain a few years ago after I fell on one knee... and I thought I had torn my meniscus but it turned out to be arthritis... I took glucosamine and chondroitin for a year and then, to see how I was doing, I stopped taking it and I was fine... so it healed).
-
Hi, All...
Is Estepp o.k.?
I've sent her two PMs since last month regarding access to the FB page.... with no replies. I don't want to be a pest....
Hope she is just busy with the holidays and family stuff!!!
-
She probably isn't checking PMs. I will nudge her.
-
Hi Ya'll! - Just got back from a 2 week trip to Dallas or rather Cedar Creek Lake where my cousin and his family lives. His daughter Ash is in the Navy and headed to Bahrain tomorrow so I wanted to spend some time with her before she deployed.
My cell phone broke while I was in Dallas so Heymoose - if I am not getting text messages - that is why. I don't have this issue resolved yet and am using DH's cell phone temporarily.
Got back here and 3 days later (Saturday) got launched off of Jazzy again - landed on my back and my head and suffered a concussion and whip lash. Hey.....I didn't come off until the 5th buck so I must be riding better - LOL
Two of my BIL's are arriving this weekend and staying for a week. One from Texas and another one from Florida. They have no freaking idea how cold it really is when you wake up to 7 degrees in the morning and your high is 19 degrees if that.
Looking for the new thread for the 5th TaTa Reunion in Vegas!!! You know I will be there and will be arriving EARLY again!
Hope everyone is well.

Aloha Sisters,
Does anyone here have experience with Aromasin (exestamane?..generic?)
Femara gave me diarrhea from the beginning and pain in every joint right around 12 months. Even the bottoms of my feet hurt to walk sometimes.. not to mention my fingers. I took a break, felt better and then tried Tamoxifen... Became emotional, crying for small things, very depressed and angry for 6 weeks. I stopped taking it 14 days ago and finally woke up this morning feeling kind of like myself again.
MO suggested Aromasin but after reading about it.... I'm thinking Not. I need some help here.

Hi BCO sista's!!
JAZZY......... um... sweety.... I am sorry you are having to deal with this. Even to think about it. With your new career. it probably is arthritis. I think you do need a bone scan though, to be sure. ((((((((((HUG)))))))))))
Shelly...... I have no Idea. I am not on that drug. Post this question on our FB, the ladies there are.
As far as our FB......... I love seeing new sisters! I do however, want to keep it SAFE. So.... As we get closer to Vegas 2013... I will get to know those of you HERE... on BCO... to see who is going for sure. Might even call you on the phone. I don't want to let just anyone on.... just those who we have MET in Vegas.
A NEW VEGAS 2013 THREAD WILL START HERE IN FEB/MARCH. ... And this is where we all will be hanging out. You can get to know us really well...:)........
I am going to be around BCO more...:).... as I too, will be waiting for the new thread to start.
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
VEGAS 2013! For so many of us here.... it will be out 5 year CANCERVERSARY!

Estepp has been busy with that new grandbaby!!!!..Congrats!
I hope all the newbies understand what Estepp is saying. We have to be very cautious these days. We look forward to getting to know all of you here on BC.org.
-
Hey Shelly, That's exactly what happened to me, except I did Arimidex twice. I'm on exemestane now and I have a little joint pain in my right wrist, other than that no other problems. I've only been on it for three months though. Femara did the same thing to me and so did tamoxifen. I would give it a try. Good luck and hopefully we will be doing a get together soon.
Pam -
Estepp -- thanks for chiming in clarifying!
-
Hello to all, I didn't mean to be out of line asking about the group and meeting in L.V. I go to Vegas a lot and it sounded like a great place to meet others with bc and have a good time! I get so much education and awareness when I read the boards. Actually leaving in the morning for Vegas with family and treating my niece to her 21st birthday trip. Beatmon
-
Hi Pam - Thank you so much for responding! I appreciate your input and it's encouraging! I've been considering trying it and called around to pharmacies for the price... Rather than about $5.00/month for the other drugs, this is $120.00/mo for the generic even at Costco!!! WTF?! Hope to see you at our next Seattle get together!
Beatmom - We look forward to getting to know you. Have a great trip and Birthday celebration!
-
Hi, All..
I guess I was confused about the Facebook group. When I was thinking about joining the last Vegas gathering, it seemed like there were lots of references here to check the FB page for additional info.
I've never been to Vegas in my life, and thought it might be fun to see it with BCO sisters!
(Being a member of the Picture Forum, I do understand the need to be careful.)
Sorry if I stepped on any toes!!!

-
Oh NO NO NO.... no one stepped on ANY toes! I did not mean to sound harsh ( Ask the ladies... I am nice tiny tata! )....
I run the FB... for this group. ALL IN OUR GROUP ARE WELCOME! Linda54 is right though... I am just SO so careful. I love you all SO SO much. I do not want anything to happen to any of us. I have to guard the FB pretty close. We have pictures there... and more private talks. I am a mother Hen... and I just wanna get to know you myself... before I add anyone to FB.
There will be LOTS of VEGAD info coming to BCO soon. But we only post " safe" things here, that can be read.... by anyone out there on the web.
Once you are committed to go... with us.... ( and we LOVE NEW SISTA's)... and your hotel is booked with us... ( all seen here on BCO)... then I'll be in SUPER contact with you... PROMISE...:)
I do not wanna turn anyone off. I am just PROTECTIVE! Post and post and post with us here...... and then.... Whenever the NEW 2013 thread Hits BCO... you'll see it here.... and come post and post and post some more with us there.... ALL ARE WELCOME!

(((HUGS)))
Laura...:)
-
Also....... Linda54 is right...... I have been busy with a new GRANDCHILD....YAY! A baby girl!
.. so I have not been very attentive to PM's..... I AM SORRY
, Please take no offence to it.
Love ya !! Laura -
Blessings - you didn't step on any toes!!!
I don't get on faceplant very often so I look here at BCO for the information regarding the Vegas trip. Believe me the new thread when it is posted is going to be very very busy. All of the information will be on BCO as far as which hotel, how much it cost, what activities are planned, etc. You will see me alot when the thread comes out!
-
Faceplant LOL Jancie -- funny autocorrect? (Or is that what you call Facebook?)
-
Had a great first day in Vegas. Won and lost some money. This thing about no alcohol and breast cancer.....sure makes me feel guilty when I have a drink. Embarrassed our niece with lots of Happy Birthday songs and silly glasses. Then back to the real world and dragging out the night sleeve and the chest compression vest! Beatmon
-
No alcohol?????!!!!!???!!!! No way.
-
Laura is tiny and mighty as she says she is our mother hen and a great support person. Can not wait to see what the 5th reunion has in store for us.
Looking forward to meeting more new girls as well, welcome beatmom and blessings20
Jancie girl how are you doing after getting thrown from that horse again?
