Like so many women who have a mastectomy with SNB, I have had problems with my right shoulder after my modified radical mastectomy with SNB on Nov 17, 2006.My right shoulder was pulled forward and I could not hold the shoulder back.

It has taken five years of a combination of physical therapy (for only three months to get me started) and constant stretching for flexibility and strength building in combination with periodic massages by a massage therapist to see slow progress in my shoulder.  Along the way that has been some mighty painful adhesion releases.

After working through my last adhesion release that occurred at Thanksgiving  2011 when I was lifting a stack of platters to place in a high cabinet, I can say that I noticed yesterday during a massage that my right shoulder was flat against the table instead of pulled forward.

I never thought I would would have that happen again.

So hang in there with the exercises, they do eventually make a big difference.
