Radiation 2x per day for 4 weeks?

Options

Has anyone heard of this.  I just got off the phone with my NP at MDA.  I asked her what rads I might be expecting this summer as I am trying to generate a timeline.  Apparently there is no notes in my chart from my multiple disciplanry hearing about what rads they were thinking.  She thought I might be getting radiation 2x per day for for weeks.  I know Eric Strom has an article on APBI with multi beam proton, but I was just wondering if anyone has done this, and if the APBI proton is two times per day?  Basically I am aksing for any info period on anyone who has done anything even similar.  Whats it like, did you get burned.... Sorry I dont' have more info, they say they won't know more until I see Dr. Strom again in May after my chemo finishes before my MX revision surgery :)  Thanks again!.

I had the contura Balloon brachytherapy internal breast radiation, it was twice a day for 5 days treatment.  I am doing quite well at this time.  Last treatment was on Nov. 18,2011.   My care is being done at the SEnebraska Cancer Center.  My RO used to be at MDA.  I believe you are getting your care at an excellent facility.  Good Luck on your treatments...

Not sure if this is what you mean, but there is such a thing as PROTON radiation.  ( google MassGeneral)  My husband had it  for colorectal cancer after he exhauated all   rad treatments here, locally.  It has virtually no side effects  (UNLIKE conventional ' photon' rad he got here ).

He credits it with saving his life ...not sure ( he had chemo, surgeies etc )  One thing I do know  for sure ... NO side effects at all.  It is cutting edghe.  Boston docs fought our ins co to cover.

Additionally, Boston lets you stay at a fabulous  place called "  ASTRAZENECA HOPE LODGE" totally  free if your dr says you need this .  Google google and google.

    hope this helps someone.
