Hi Jap62 and welcome to BCO.  I can't answer your question as I did not follow that path but BCO does have a forum dedicated to this subject and contains some wonderful information.  Just go to the Forum Index at the top of the page, click, then scroll down untill you get to the Alternative heading, click and start reading.  I wish you well in your choices.

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

Hi, jap ~ Welcome to BCO, although I'm so sorry you have reason to be here.  What I've personally observed is that most women who choose to go an alternative route usually don't stay on this website very long.  And with few exceptions, even those who pursue alternatives almost always have surgery if their bc is invasive.  But there are many of us here who have done a lot of complimentary treatment along with conventional treatment, and many of us who work with integrative doctors and naturopathic doctors during and after conventional treatment (tx).  The best advice I can give you is keep an open mind and talk to several practictioners before making any decisions about what tx you will and won't do.  And be sure that whomever you talk to really understands the wide range of bcs.  Her2+, for example, can be aggressive, and you'll want to be sure to read up on Herceptin, which is a targeted drug just for Her2+ bc.

I know trauma to the breast is thought to be an increased risk factor.  And for some women, there appears to be a thyroid link.  But I don't think I've heard of neck trauma per se increasing a woman's risk.  Did that happen to you?     Deanna

well I was informed of someone who works bc patients and all of them had previous neck trauma.  He believes it might have to do with the lymphatic system, where afterta trauma the muscles tighten up to compensate for the trauma and cut off the the lymphatic drainage of toxins.  Yes I did have trauma in o7, and my muscles have been pretty tight since then.  Had a massage yedterday and she told me my right side was worse than the left, and yes, that is where my cancer is.  Just thought it was interesting.  Since I was just dx, I am just seekiong info, really do not want chemo or radiation.  So, as of right now I am trying to detox and get my body in a more healthier state, even morte so if chem is part of the treatment.  My oncoloogist wants me to do chemo first, but I just am not so sure I want to do that. My bso said she would do my blilaterial if I choose.
