worried about my mother plz help me!
Im worried about my mother she has a bump on the lower part of her breast we thought that it just because she has a menstruation but after her menstruation its still there. The size is like a marble and is movable. Do you think its is a breast cancer because we have a history in my mothers side and before that she got diagnosed of having a breast cancer but it got cured by medicine when she was a teenager. I read some article that the breast cancer may come back. Please help i need some answers although im afraid to know the truth if we go to the doctor and have her check up. I hope its just a cyst....:(

Harunandica- I know how scared you must be for your dear mom, without a mamo and a biopsy you wont know for sure. She had breast cancer as a teenager? That is very rare but it does happen. With having breast cancer on your moms side and her having had Breast cancer before i would urge your mom to go have it checked out, it could be a cyst but it is always better to be safe at least if it is BC she can be treated successfully if treated early too, they have come a long way with new meds everyday, so please have your mom make an appointment at least for peace of mind, not only for her but for yourself as well. We are all here for you, please keep us posted, Your mom and you are in my prayers and thoughts, hoping for b9 results
Warm hugs

Dear Worried,
I think you are being wise to be concerned about your Mother. She definitely needs to go to the doctor without delay for a breast exam, then they'll refer her for a mammogram. If she doesn't have insurance, there are programs out there that will pay for her mammogram. The radiologist will review it & they may do an ultrasound too. They will report their ideas to her doctor. You are so right about family history being an issue. My Mother had cancer, but she did survive (by acting quickly) & is now 81. My Aunt & cousin also had breast cancer & were fortunate to catch it early. Unfortunately, mine was very agressive, meaning really fast. Also it was oblong & flat, so less noticeable. I never fail to get a mammogram, yet there it was -- 4.2 cm one. Things moved really fast after that. Biopsy (testing the actual tissue), then a mastectomy, a port (a way to have IVs & blood drawn without destroying your veins; mine are small & difficult for nurses to even draw blood, so I have been very happy to have the port. Now, I am in chemo & taking it one day at a time. Speed is crucial for your Mother. I don't want you to have fear, but turn that into determination to get her to have it checked out. If it really is cancer, the longer she waits, the worse her chances. If it's something minor like a cyst (which it might be) it will take a load off of your mind. She does need to do monthly self-exams & you do too. You can sometimes catch it before the doctor does. I will you & your Mom well. I will be praying for both of you! God bless! Eva -
